The Royal Hungarian Army was a crucial ally of Germany during the Second World War, and had extensively modernised and upgraded its armed forces in preparation for the conflict. Hungarian officers played a crucial role in leading their men in combat, and often benefited from a fairly extensive pre-war military education.
