Flames of War: British: Sentinel Armoured Troop (x3)

Though the Australian home service armoured divisions are armed with M3 Grant medium tanks, it was initially intended that these divi-sions would be at least partially equipped with the new Australian built Sentinel tanks. The first Sentinel tanks off the production lines were armed with the effective 2 pdr gun, an excellent weapon at the outbreak of the war, and more than enough to deal with Japanese tanks. When designed it was always intended that the Sentinel tank would be armed with the powerful 6 pdr gun. Initial production used the 2 pdr until sufficient numbers of 6 pdr guns became available. To give the Sentinel tank an improved high-explosive round against entrenchments and bunkers some were fitted with the 25 pdr field gun. However, both the 6 pdr and 25 pdr turret left no room for a turret machine-gun.
