Well led, well-equipped and thoroughly trained, the British infantryman of the Victorian period blazed a trail for Empire all over the world. Cheerful and confident, the redcoats served their sovereign well, smashing their enemy with concentrated rifle fire and, if necessary, selling their lives dearly behind the thrust of their long bayonets.
Providing support for the British army were the Natal Native Contingents. Largely used to support the main British forces in South Africa they became the primary defence against the Zulu forces. Recruited mainly from the local Basuto and Mponso peoples, this force excelled at dealing with the Zulus due to an extensive history of fighting them.
This box lets you bolster your British force with four large units of infantry - two each of British Regulars and Natal Native Contingent.
