The First of the Emperor's Legions and the most powerful amongst their brethren, the Dark Angels Space Marines is held in the highest esteem by their brethren for their countless successes on the battlefield. Yet despite their absolute loyalty to the Golden Throne, the entire chapter harbors a dark secret that stains the honor of their chapter to this day: there exists heretic "Fallen Angels" brothers who turned traitor and joined the forces of Chaos during the Horus Heresy and now blaspheme the Emperor with their very existence. For this crime of treason, the Dark Angels chapter seeks penance and redemption and will now rest until the very last heretic has repented or died for their sins.

Current Grand Master of the Deathwing chapter of the Dark Angels, Belial holds a position of no equal amongst his brethern; the Deathwing Chapter of the Dark Angels is considered an apex unit from even the veterans of the Space Marines and the leader of such an elite unit must be the best of the best. Unwavering, unbroken, eternally sworn to hunt down his heretic brothers, Belial wields the awe-inspiring Sword of Silence to cut down those who dare rise against the Emperor's light.
