“Together... always... together...”
A sickness plagues Appalachia, whether beast or human, affects them the same. The first signs are a charring of the skin and a choking stench of ash. Burns will then begin to blister over the skin, before the final symptom dooms the victim. Bright, green crystals rip through the skin and the mind of the plagued gets wiped away, subsumed into the hive mind of the Scorched. Survivors search for a cure, and wise folks look towards the skies.
