The Ionic Smart Colors WWII German Winter Camouflage Set includes 12 acrylic paints specially chosen to provide the essential tones for painting WWII German miniatures.

The IONIC WWII German Winter Camouflage set includes 12 acrylic paints, carefully selected to provide the essential colors for white and off-white garments, making them ideal for recreating clothing in snowy environments.
This set contains all the colors needed to paint winter or white camouflage used on specific parts of German equipment, including reversible smocks, trouser covers, jacket covers, and helmet covers. It includes the paints to create two types of white: a warmer tone (starting from a beige base) and a cooler tone (starting from a bluish gray).
These colors are used to build up shadows and create a base, which can then be highlighted simply by adding an off-white (Ivory), a shade that is also useful for mixing lighter tones and applying highlights to the rest of the figure’s elements.
Both types of whites can be combined on different parts of a miniature or across figures in the same unit to achieve more realistic results, reflecting the variety of tones one would encounter on the battlefield.
The set also includes two feldgrau tones: a darker version, ideal for painting helmets and for shading uniforms, and a lighter version that represents the classic greenish-gray of the German uniform. To recreate the typical worn whitewash effect seen on helmets from exposure and use, the set includes a “washable” white paint.
When applied over a dark gray base and, dry, it can be reactivated with a little water to remove part of the white layer.
Finally, the set is completed with several brown tones and black, perfect for painting equipment such as straps, breadbags, canteens, and ammunition pouches.

While each of these paints can be used directly for individual elements, they can also be mixed to create new shades or tones, highly effective for building volume by working with highlights and shadows.
